Co Creator, Director and Developer of a sailboat imaging system which captures sail position and rig shape in real time and through image processing, perspective correction algorithms and mathematical techniques, aids sail, rig and trim development.
My role has involved mathematical techniques and algorithm development, software creation from the ground up and bespoke hardware development for the range of products, along with on the water testing and usability trials. Successful product launch and commercialisation has lead to experience with other marine soft/hardware including integration with, and development of add-ins for, other commercially available systems (B&G Deckman, Cosworth Pi and Expedition).
VSPARS is a real time, multi threaded C#.Net Windows application which sends, receives and stores data using XML and serial/ethernet protocols. It communicates with hardware and other softwares, capturing large amounts of information and has a highly developed GUI in order to provide a rich user experience and the power to interrogate historical, as well as real time, data.
